I grew up with five sisters in Weslaco, Tx. which is located in The Rio Grande Valley. Our names pretty much all begin with the letter E including our parents: Ernesto, Elena, Imelda, Eliza, Emma, Erika, Emily, and Evelyn(in order). I also have three nieces, three nephews, one dog niece, two dog nephews, and a cat nephew. My entire family lives in Weslaco but frequently visit me or I visit them. We are extremely close and mean the world to me!
Upon graduating from high school in 2001, I moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas at Austin. I earned a Bachelor's in Applied Human Learning and Development in 2005, and later returned to earn a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction through Proyecto Maestría in 2011. It was in 2016 that I then earned Principal Certification through Lamar University in Beaumont, Tx. I'm starting my 12th year in education and have worked in Austin ISD for 9 of those years.
I met my spouse Jemerell, in Austin back in 2004 and we have a 10(almost 11) year old son named Xavier whom will be starting 6th grade this school year. He plays basketball and will be learning to play trombone in band. We are very excited about him learning to play an instrument! His father and I both played clarinet in Middle School through High School.
In my free time I enjoy, hiking, running, lifting weights, listening to music, reading the news, watching sports, and spending time with my family. I greatly enjoy coffee and tea and frequent local shops as well as exploring new food spots in Austin.
I'm extremely happy to be joining the Blazier family and look forward to learning from the students, parents, and the staff!
